<dc:description>This document is a lab report for the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) course ELEX 7660 detailing the steps taken to design, build and test a single phase variable frequency drive (VFD) using an Altera Cyclone IV DE0 Nano Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The lab took place over a period of five weeks, and was completed by a team of two 3rd year electrical engineering students. The results of the lab were positive, with the VFD meeting most of the required specifications being successfully built, and both students gaining valuable insight into the design process.</dc:description>
