Wildlife highway mortality on Vancouver Island Report written by Wade Jones, Greg Koldewijn and James Wyllie May 10, 2000. Submitted to Daniel J. Catt. The authors in conjunction with Keystone Wildlife Research collected baseline data (sightings and track counts) for Columbian Black-tailed Deer (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus) and particularly Roosevelt Elk (Cervus elaphus roosevelti) both of which winter in the Union Bay area on Vancouver Island.
