Abstract
The purpose of this project was to design the roadway approaches for the proposed replacement
of Foss Bridge along Driftwood Road in northern British Columbia proposed by Daniel
Bragagnini. The design required the development of a horizontal and vertical alignment that
accommodates a new bridge deck elevation while addressing existing site constraints including
terrain topography, existing roadway geometry, and flood elevation requirements. The site is
located approximately 10 km northeast of Smithers, BC and is a low-volume rural road
providing access for residential properties and a provincial park.
