Abstract
The purpose of this project was to the design of recreational centre and roofing options in
Vancouver, BC. The structure is a low rise building with gable roof with flexible diaphragm. The
structural system consists of steel joists, beams, columns, and cross bracing, while the foundation
is composed of reinforced concrete. The initial drawings and details of the structure were
provided by my sponsor, [retracted] . The project underwent a scope
revision, replacing seismic analysis with wind load design upon faculty advisor's request.
